Nice review, man! I actually stop reading Army of Darkness since as you mention it was getting out of control especially with the crossovers where some where good but some where like out of place and didn't go anywhere.
I do admit the art is a bit better than what previous Army of Darkness issues where release before the reboot yet Dynamite seem to miss that what made the first Army of Darkness is good is the art that Nick Bradshaw did where it was very cartoony like watching a cartoon series of AoD but at the same time Bradshaw did an excellent job on balancing both the comedy and horror in the first issues, kinda like what Gravity Falls is doing.
This is why i like the IDW Ghostbusters that is doing where the characters look all cartoon like designs but gives the characters more emotion, dynamic poses and exaggerate facial expressions where others try to do something more serious it just look bland and boring.
